Leaving, on a jet plane.......

Well not just yet, but as you know, I will be heading back to Florida to teach at My Favorite Things in the Autumn, woo hoo!

And as my new class is all about skin, hair.......and yes, those eyes, I thought I ought to start as I mean to go on and keep practicing colouring those features!

Now, my trusty luggage that travels with me across the pond is navy blue, so I thought I'd dress this little gal up in a pretty blue ensemble with matching cases too, as she heads off to catch her plane.

The stamp has a single suitcase, however, I thought I'd jazz it up a little with the help of a bit of masking and gave her a second suitcase with wheels!  Then I doodled in a check-in desk to help set the scene.

As always for those who are inspired to have a go at this yourselves, here is the Copic list:

SUPPLIES:
Stamps: Adventure is Calling by My Favorite Things
Paper: MFT card - After Midnight, MFT Paper pad - Watercolour Wash Brights
Colouring Medium: Copic (see list above)

Thanks for dropping by today, I hope you enjoyed reading todays post and that it has inspired you to get colouring.

NEW COPIC CLASSES - MFT - OCTOBER 14 - 15

Ahoy mateys!
I am flying back to Florida in October for yet more Copic colouring fun.......want to join me?

CLASS INFORMATION:

My Favorite Things Boutique
Eustis, Florida

14th - 15th October 2017

(Schedule information below)

If you would like to learn how I approach colouring with Copics, adding my own quirkiness to bring rubber stamps to life - then why not click on the link below and sign up for one of my classes.

Not sure if this class is for you because you've never used markers before, or have limited experience with them; don't worry, nor had some of my students in previous classes and they had a blast!
I walk you through step by step, giving you the skills and more importantly the confidence to get the most out of the markers.
You'll be amazed what you can achieve!

Back in April, my students learnt numerous techniques to create fur, grass, buttercups and skies........ they even got to draw some rather 'comical' cows!

This time I'm going to share my love of "faces" - and yes, you will learn how I add those eyes!!

The schedule for each class day is as follows:

Morning Session
9 am - 12 pm

Lunch Break
12 pm - 2 pm

Afternoon Session
2 pm - 5 pm

During the morning session, I will be teaching you some of the basic techniques I use for no-line colouring, building your knowledge, proficiency and confidence.  Then in the afternoon we'll be implementing those techniques to create your very own Copic masterpiece!

The class fee is
$75

Each day of class will include 6 hours of instruction and will be identical in content.
Simply register for the class day that best suits you.

You just need to bring adhesive and the required Copics to the class.
The Copic list will be provided at a later date, with ample time for you to purchase the markers.

PLEASE NOTE:
Each class will accommodate a maximum of 30 students and are expected to sell out quickly.
Classes must be pre-paid
Due to the limited seating availability and special nature of this event, no refunds will be given if you are unable to attend.

I am so looking forward to sharing my love of art and Copic colouring again - hope to see you there!

MFT Colour Challenge

Another fun challenge that we hold every two weeks over on the MFT Blog and if you use our products you could be the lucky recipient of $20 store voucher!

So I guess, you'd like to see the colours you need to use this time:

I chose a very simple design, but did squeeze in a little bit of Copic colouring.

The background paper, Calm and Cozy Chevron was cut out with a Wonky Stitched Rectangle die.  Then I used the Big Thanks die to cut out the letters in both Blueberry and Blue Yonder, mounting them together.  The little parrot is from the Party Like a Pirate stamp set, which I coloured with Copics and then cut out with the co-ordinating die and mounted with foam squares.

Good luck to everyone who enters.

MFT Sketch Challenge

Now this was great fun and a little different from my usual Copic colouring style.  Have you had a go with a Sketch Challenge before, if not, why not enter this week, I'd love to see your interpretations of the sketch.

I used You Float my Boat from this months release, opting for a dark blue and teal colour scheme.

I look forward to seeing your entries and don't forget you have the chance of winning a $50 gift voucher to spend in store!

It's MFT Launch Day - oh yes!

Yes, you can click that mouse and fill your shopping baskets, the June release is now available at the MFT store.

To celebrate, I am sharing another Party Like a Pirate project - a simple colour palette for the card and oh boy a lot of Copics (I got a little carried away)

I thought I would change my colour scheme from the traditional Pirate colours and opted for shades of blue and teal.  To that end I first chose my backing paper, in this instance I used True Blue Houndstooth and mounted it with both Blu Raspberry and Summer Splash card.

Here is the Copic colour list, brace yourself there are quite a few colours:

Have fun shopping and I look forward to seeing the wonderful projects you make with this new release.

Anyone for s'mores? MFT Countdown Day 2

Oh this one is cute.......seriously cute! It is called Beary Big Adventure.

Confession time, I actually used an old Sketch Challenge for this one.........if you're stuck for a card design idea it is a really good source of inspiration.  Anyway, I used Kraft Collection Solid Stripes at the base with a band of Cherry Crisp card, which reminds me.....  Have you seen the new additions to the Printable Resources section - you can now get colour matches for all the paper packs - have I mentioned how much I love the guys at MFT!!  Oops, nearly forgot the Kraft card frame I cut using a Stitched Circle Scallop Frame die.
As to the colouring......you know the routine by now, I stamp the image on Copic card using Hybrid ink in Cement Grey and then colour like a woman possessed with my trusty markers.  For those who like to play along here is the Copic list.

Thank you for dropping by today, I will be back on launch day.........not long to wait now!!
