Thank you

Well, here is a little thank you card coloured in pencil on kraft card.

With my newly acquired flesh tone pencils I am working hard at achieving more realistic skin colours, still need practice but I think I may be getting there!

FYI I am now using a combination of Caran D'Ache Pablo, Derwent Artist and Faber Castell Polychromos.

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:
DP2 Challenge: Anything Goes
Crafts and Me Challenges: Bright colours
Fab n Funky Challenges: Use a digi image
Paper Pretties: Use ribbon or twine
Creative Craft Challenges: Bingo (ribbons, pink, gems)

You're a true artist, Jane.I always love seeing your coloring! The boots particularly grab my attention, they look so real its unbelievable.Just love em.
Skin is tricky. I have the Lyra skin tones but to be honest rarely use them. I find that using a normal set of Lyras or Prismas and layering from light to dark, staring at white or light cream and alternating between pinks and yellows (going progressively darker)and shadowing works well. I also use a touch of orange at the end in the shadows with the darkest pink. But there's so many shades of skin its hard to go wrong.
At one time skin freaked me out but now its my favorite part. I just love seeing it come alive.
I don't have any of the pencils you mentioned so I don't know how they compare but I know some serious artists really prefer the polychromos over anything.
Oh hey! Thanks for joining us at Mo's this week and also for leaving all your sweet comments on the DT blogs. :)
Hugs,
Dorcas
