Happy Valentine's Day

You know when a migraine has messed with your head when:
.....you manage to spill a full cup of coffee over yourself
and then try to pour freshly cooked pasta into the sink instead of a collander

so it came as no surprise that my attempts to colour this week have ended in abject failure!

But with Valentine's Day looming I had to get creative
so I turned to Milo for help

I created this little bear years ago when I used to paper piece

Do you like the background?
Would you like to know how to make it?

Take two complimentary DP's and cut out a circle from one of them
Mark out a grid on the reverse and cut slits
Cut identical width strips in the other DP and weave through the circle
Secure with tape on the back and trim to shape
Attach the newly woven circle to a larger disc cut from plain cardstock

Now I decided to off set the circle slightly and trimmed off an edge but when I went to mount Milo he looked a little odd floating in mid air!
That is when I hit upon the idea to turn the trimmed edge 180 and re-attach it to the base of the circle.

Sounds like you have been having a bad time, Jane! Hope now that the migraine is passed, your brain gets back to normal. Poor you! I love Milo! I'm wondering how you made him. And I love the background and the little mound Milo is standing on. A lovely card! Hugs, Lesley

Well that migraine didn't mess with your creativity. Fun technique and oh so clever use of that cut off. Hugs and hope you're feeling all better!

I adore Milo! I may try your lattice technique, but I'm already apprehensive on how it might turn out. Happy Valentine's Day to you and your Valentine.

Just in case anyone else is wondering about Milo - he was a little bear I started making many years ago using various 2x2 Quickutz dies, hand cut pieces, a couple of punches, cardstock and chalk ink.
And I am sorry but he is not for sale.
