MFT COLOUR CHALLENGE #106

I've been having great fun creating the panel for the latest
Colour Challenge over on the MFT Challenge Blog

Now, before I go any further the credit for this awesome stitch design goes to Jennifer McGuire.  I saw her teacher card featuring this ages ago and had been itching to give this a go myself.

I used DMC Perle Cotton 5, having cut out my cross-stitch grid with the Cross-Stitch Rectangle die on Kraft cardstock.  As this is such a bold design it did not require any embellishment so I merely created an A2 top folding card, again from Kraft and mounted the panel on to it with foam tape.

MFT COLOUR CHALLENGE #105

It's time for another Colour Challenge over on the MFT Challenge Blog

No actual colouring this time, instead I opted to cut strips of card in the colours listed above and adhered them to some parcel tape to create a new stripey sheet of cardstock.  I then cut this out with a Stitched Square Stax die.

A mount, die cut from Milk Chocolate card framed the panel, which was then adhered to a top folding card that I had cut from the largest Inside & Out Stitched Square die.

The Hello sentiment was cut four times, using the above colours and layered, slightly off centre to give a shadow effect and allow all four colours to show.  I then painted Nuvo Aqua Shimmer on to the top Natural layer and once dry I applied some Nuvo Crystal Glaze.

A few sequins finished it off!

Why not try this yourself, it's a great way of using those scraps of card you have been squirrelling.
One lucky entrant in this weeks challenge will win a $50 MFT Store Voucher, it could be you!

Until next time

MFT COLOUR CHALLENGE #104

Hello and welcome to my blog, thank you for dropping by.

I am playing along with the current MFT Colour Challenge and I'd love you to join in.

All you have to do is create a project using the above colours and enter it

As we are getting close to Halloween, I chose to use this cute little cat from Birdie Brown's Witch Way is the Candy?

Having stamped the images with Cement Grey Hybrid ink, I masked them with some post-it tape before spritzing some YR15 and BV02 using a Distress Marker Spritzer Tool.

I then removed the tape and proceeded to colour the images with the colours in the challenge.

MFT COLOUR CHALLENGE #95

I've got a Colour Challenge for you today, using the shades below:

and I decided to do a little inking and stitching.......

I cut the Cross-Stitch Rectangle die from Smooth White card and inked it with a combination of Peeled Paint and Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.

The hedgehog comes courtesy of a chart from www.crossmenot.blogspot.com.  I added some daisies for the yellow and white part of the challenge.

I affixed the stitched panel on to a two-tone mount of Sour Apple and Berrylicious with Foam Tape for added dimension, before adhereing this to a Smooth White card base.

I hope you can join in with todays challenge and remember there is a $50 store voucher up for grabs!

Until next time
Happy Colouring

MFT Colour Challenge No 74

It's time for another Colour Challenge over at My Favorite Things!

I chose to use "You Have My Heart" - just look at that well behaved little pooch, maybe he could teach my Westie a thing or two.

The rules are pretty simple, just incorporate colours inspired by the ones listed below in your project.......

and you could be the lucky winner of
$50 Gift Voucher
to MFTstamps.com

I am still practicing for the October classes and as you can see I had a little fun adding pleats and patterns to the girl's dress.  Have you spotted the other change.......no not the eyes.......I swapped out the heart she is holding on the stamp for a bone.  Hence the dog's tongue is sticking out, he's drooling in anticipation of being given his treat!

With just a little imagination you too can personalise your images - the tiny flowers on her top are really simple to do.  I coloured the dress as normal, then used the colourless blender marker to add tiny little dots in the shape of little flowers........see I did say it was really easy!

For anyone who wants to colour along here are the Copic colours:

So why not have a go......I so look forward to seeing your wonderful creations

MFT Colour Challenge

Another fun challenge that we hold every two weeks over on the MFT Blog and if you use our products you could be the lucky recipient of $20 store voucher!

So I guess, you'd like to see the colours you need to use this time:

I chose a very simple design, but did squeeze in a little bit of Copic colouring.

The background paper, Calm and Cozy Chevron was cut out with a Wonky Stitched Rectangle die.  Then I used the Big Thanks die to cut out the letters in both Blueberry and Blue Yonder, mounting them together.  The little parrot is from the Party Like a Pirate stamp set, which I coloured with Copics and then cut out with the co-ordinating die and mounted with foam squares.

Good luck to everyone who enters.
