MFT WEEKLY SKETCH CHALLENGE #WSC409

It's that time of the week when the Design Team invites you to join in with the new Sketch Challenge.

Here is the sketch we have for you this week:

and this is the card I made for the Challenge:

Well, as it's Halloween today I thought it only fitting that the adorable witch from Witch Way is the Candy should be on the card!

She's coloured on Kraft card with Caran D'Ache Supracolor Soft pencils, but their non-water-soluble Pablo pencils would have worked just as well.

Why not join in with this weeks challenge, you never know you could be the lucky winner of a $50 MFT Store Voucher.

Until next time
Happy Colouring

MFT COLOUR CHALLENGE #104

Hello and welcome to my blog, thank you for dropping by.

I am playing along with the current MFT Colour Challenge and I'd love you to join in.

All you have to do is create a project using the above colours and enter it

As we are getting close to Halloween, I chose to use this cute little cat from Birdie Brown's Witch Way is the Candy?

Having stamped the images with Cement Grey Hybrid ink, I masked them with some post-it tape before spritzing some YR15 and BV02 using a Distress Marker Spritzer Tool.

I then removed the tape and proceeded to colour the images with the colours in the challenge.

COPIC COLOURS
Background: YR15, BV02
Pumpkins: YR21, YR12, YR15, YR24, YR18, B91, B93, E81, E84, C2
Cat: BV02, C2, C4, C6, C8, B0000, B000, C8, E81, C2
Bow tie: BV08, BV13, BV17
Ground: W00, W0, W1, W3, W5, W7

I created a shaped card with the aid of Blueprints 31, mounting the image panel with foam tape on Wild Wisteria cardstock.

Why not have a go, you never know you may the lucky winner of a $50 MFT Gift voucher.

Until next time
Happy Colouring

P P PICK UP A PENGUIN

If you're a Brit 🇬🇧 like me you'll be thinking about Chocolate Biscuits right about now!
(a Penguin is a chocolate coated biscuit, similar to an Australian TimTam)

As promised, here is another card I created using
Sweet Holiday Penguins by Stacey Yacula

Today, I decided to swap my Copics for Caran D'Ache Luminance pencils.  I stamped the image with Cement Grey Hybrid ink on to Neenah Desert Storm 100lb cardstock, which I then cut using a Stitched Tag Corner Square Stax Die-namics.

Once coloured, I created a top folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110lb.  The rest of the card was made from layers of the same Neenah white card and Red Hot card, to mirror the stripes on the candy cane.

Thank you for visiting my blog today

MFT HAS A NEW DESIGNER

Hello everyone, I'm back today to share some fantastic news:
Stacey Yacula has joined the MFT Family!

So I had fun creating this card for you, using her first stamp set
Sweet Holiday Penguins

I stamped the little penguins with Cement Grey Hybrid ink on to Copic suitable card, having pre-cut the cardstock with a Circle Stax 2 Die-namics.

COPIC COLOURS:
Background: YR30, E50, E81, E84, C1, C2, C4
Penguins: B0000, C00, C0, C1, C4, C6, C8, C10, B45, V20, YR21, YR12, YR18

Box: R22, R24, B0000, B00, YR20, YR21, YR23, C0, C1, C2

Once coloured, I stamped a sentiment from the stamp set with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder.  I opted to mount the image panel with foam tape on to a top folding card made using Wild Cherry and a Stitched Mini Scallop Circle Stax die.

Please hop on over to the MFT Blog to not only see more cute penguins but also our latest card kit.

As for me, I will be back tomorrow with more cuteness!
Until then
Happy Colouring

MFT RELEASE DAY - OCTOBER 2018

I have a pair of adorable Robins for my release day post!

Tweet Holidays has lots of cheeky little Robins to choose from and numerous seasonal sentiments.

I chose these cute little friends, snuggled up in a scarf - please note the one on the stamp is plain, I added my own pattern when colouring it.

They were stamped with Cement Gray Hybrid ink on Copic suitable card and coloured with Copic markers and then cut out using the matching Tweet Holidays Die-Namics.

COPIC COLOURS:
Robins: YR12, E13, E41, E42, E43, E44, W00, W0, W1, W3, W5, W6, W8
Hat/Scarf: R22, R24, R27, R37, B0000, B000, C1, C2, C3, W2, W4, W5

As for the card base, I cut a piece of Smooth White card using a Stitched Square die.  Then cut a mask using a Stitched Arch Stax and adhered the negative space to the square die cut.

I sponged Tumbled Glass, Milled Lavender and Stormy Sky Distress ink on to the open area.  Once the ink had dried I dry embossed the Stitched Arch Stax on the square die cut for added dimension.  Then it was time to add a snow flurry with a White Gel Pen.

A sentiment from the Tweet Holidays set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Wow Metallic First Frost Embossing Powder.

Both the Robins and the decorated square panel were adhered to a top folding square card base with foam tape.

It's now time to go shopping

available at mftstamps.com

But before you go, don't forget to leave a comment on my blog for your chance to win one of two MFT Store Vouchers!

I look forward to seeing what you create with this release!
Happy Colouring

MFT OCTOBER RELEASE - COUNTDOWN DAY 2

Today I have a group of snowmen that appear to be from Wisconsin.
I may be English but my son Ben loves American sports and he's a huge Green Bay Packers fan - Go Cheeseheads!

I stamped the main image from Cool Christmas on Copic suitable card with MFT Cement Gray Hybrid ink and coloured it with Copics before cutting it out using the matching Die-Namics.

The background scene was created using the Christmas trees from the set along with additional doodling by yours truly, again with Copic markers.  The snow highlights were added later with the aid of a White Gel pen.

COPIC COLOURS:
Car: R22, R24, R27, R37, R39, N4, N6, W2, W4
Snowmen: BG0000, C0, C1, C2, Y12
Clothing: YR23, YR24, YR27, G24, G28, C5
Trees: BG90, W1, BG93, BG96, BG99
Snow: BG0000, C0, C1, R0000
Sky: B0000

The sentiment, again from the Cool Christmas set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Wow Metallic First Frost Embossing Powder.

To give a little added dimension to the card, I adhered the die-cut snowmen in their car to the background image with foam tape, before mounting on to a plain white card base with a Cement Gray mount.

You don't have long to wait until you can put this adorable stamp set in your shopping cart!

Thank you so much for visiting my blog today.
Until next time, happy colouring.

MFT OCTOBER RELEASE - COUNTDOWN DAY 3

Die cuts today with a smidge of Copic colouring!

I couldn't help myself, I just had to shade the deer to give them a little definition, what do you think?

The card base is a top folding A2 card from After Midnight cardstock.  I created the background from layers of Blue Breeze and Sweet Tooth cut using an A2 Stitched Rectangle Stax 1 die.  With the latter white card then trimmed with the Snow Drifts Die Namics.  The top white layer was adhered with foam tape for added dimension.

Subtle clouds were added with the aid of Sweet Tooth Pigment ink and small natural sponge.

As for the Delightful Deer, one was cut from Natural Card whilst the other from Kraft card, along with both sets of antlers.  Shading was added using Copic markers.  The darker deer was glued to the card whereas the paler one was adhered using foam tape, again for added dimension.

COPIC COLOURS:
Snow: BG0000, C00
Deer: E41, E42, E44, W1, W2, W4

To finish I added a heat embossed sentiment from the Snow Globe Sentiments set with Versamark ink and Wow Metallic First Frost Embossing Powder on Sweet Tooth cardstock.  Once dry I cut it out using Slanted Sentiment Strips and mounted it on to the card with foam tape.

Only a few more days to go.
What are your favourites so far?

I will be back tomorrow with another project from the upcoming release.

MFT OCTOBER RELEASE - COUNTDOWN DAY 5

Hello there!
No, you are not hallucinating, I'm crafting again.

Being married to a farmer means the summer months are very busy for me and when combined with extremely painful orthodontics I decided to take a little break from Design Team work.

Anyway, let's take a peek at what I've been working on for the October Release at My Favourite Things:

The cool thing about this little guy is that he's the "freebie" stamp for October at MFT - cute isn't he!
I stamped him on to a piece of Copic suitable card that had been pre-cut with a Stitched Square die and as always used Cement Gray Hybrid ink for my usual no-lines look!

Please note, the background was drawn and coloured by hand, it's not available as part of the stamp.

Everything was coloured with Copic markers:

Sky: B000
Snow: BG0000, BG000, C00, C0, C1, V0000, V20
Trees: N2, N3, N4, N6, YG63, YG67, YG91
Reindeer: E40, E41, E42, E43, E44, N2, N4, N6, YG91

The additional snowy touches were created using a white gel pen.  Just remember, as with coloured pencils, please ensure you have completed all of your Copic colouring before adding the gel pen.  That way you will avoid damaging your nibs.

I used Neenah 110lb white card for the top folding notecard, with a mount cut from Cement Gray card using a Square Stax Die-Namics.

Well, did you enjoy that?
Why not hop on over to the MFT blog where you will find links to my fellow Design Team members who are also showcasing various products that will be available in a few days time.

I will be back in a couple of days with another project from the upcoming October release.
